Guru Purnima,macrame.
This was the day when Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa – author of the Mahabharata – was born to sage Parashara and a fisherman's daughter Satyavati; thus this day is also celebrated as Vyasa Purnima.[5]Veda Vyasa did yeoman service to the cause of Vedic studies by gathering all the Vedic hymns extant during his times, dividing them into four parts based on their use in the sacrificial rites, and teaching them to his four chief disciples – Paila, Vaisampayana, Jaimini and Sumantu. It was this dividing and editing that earned him the honorific "Vyasa" (vyas = to edit, to divide). "He divided the Holy Veda into four, namely Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva. The histories and the Puranas are said to be the fifth Veda."

Macrame planter
When I was little, in school, doing macramé
planters with rope.
A few days ago I remembered them and I started thinking that I could try.
Yesterday I was shopping and saw in a store
a roll of cotton rope that could serve,
so I bought it
this afternoon and I began to make the planter
and here it is.

The truth is that the development has not been easy:
First, the measures do not have to have for each string, so I cut them randomly . I've been a little short, but not

Step-by-Step Instructions
Part 1: The Solid Base
Start by creating a solid bottom rectangle so the soap doesn't slide out.
- Foundation Chain: Chain 10.
- Round 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each ch across (9 sc). Do not turn your work. Now, pivot and rotate your piece upside down to work into the opposite side of the foundation chain. Place 1 sc in each of the 9 loops on the back of the chain. Sl st to the first sc to join. (Total: 18 sc)
- Round 2: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch). Sc in each st around. Sl st to the first sc to join. (Total: 18 sc)
Part 2: The Mesh Body
This section creates the open, breathable grid pattern seen in your photo.
- Round 3: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc + ch 1). Sk the next st, *dc in the next st, ch 1, sk the next st; repeat from * all the way around. Sl st into the 3rd chain of your starting ch-4 to join. (Total: 9 mesh windows)
- Round 4 – 10: Sl st into the first ch-1 space. Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc + ch 1). *Dc in the next ch-1 space, ch 1; repeat from * all the way around. Sl st into the 3rd chain of your starting ch-4 to join.(Note: You can add or subtract rounds here depending on how tall your soap bar is. Stop when the bag covers your soap).
Part 3: The Scalloped Edging & Eyelets
This section creates the pretty decorative shell borders and the holes for the drawstring.
- Round 11 (Eyelet Round): Ch 1, sc in each dc and each ch-1 space all the way around. Sl st to the first sc to join. (Total: 18 sc)
- Round 12 (Scallop/Shell Edge): Ch 1, sc in the first st. *Sk 1 st, 5 dc into the next st (this forms the shell), sk 1 st, sc in the next st; repeat from * around. Sl st to the first sc to join.
- Fasten off your yarn and cleanly weave in all remaining loose ends using your tapestry needle.
Part 4: The Drawstring Cord
- Cord: Chain 55 (or until your cord reaches roughly 12 inches long). Fasten off and knot both ends tightly.
- Assembly: Weave this chain cord in and out of the "Eyelet Round" (Round 11) spaces using your fingers or a safety pin. Tie the two loose ends of the cord together into a neat knot.

मकबूल फिदा हुसैन का चले जाना
मशहूर चितेरे मकबूल फिदा हुसैन को उनके चाहने वालों का अंतिम सलाम। कला को आम आदमी की चर्चाओं में शुमार करने वाले हुसैन का यूं चले जाना, जैसे आघात के समान है। नई सदी की शुरुआत में दर्ज आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, जिस दुनिया में औसत उम्र 26 बरस आठ माह हो, वहां 95 वर्ष की उम्र में दुनिया से विदाई बेशक, बड़ी बात नहीं लेकिन जब जाने वाला मकबूल हो, तो दुख का समुद्र उमड़ना लाजिमी ही है। मकबूल ऐसे ही इतने बड़े कलाकार नहीं बन गए। वर्ष 1947 में वे प्रोग्रेसिव आर्टिस्ट ग्रुप में शामिल हुए क्योंकि परंपराओं पर चलना उन्हें पसंद नहीं था। कोशिश थी कि बंगाल स्कूल ऑफ़ आर्ट्स की राष्ट्रवादी परंपरा को तोड़कर कुछ नया करने की। लगातार नया करने की उनकी आदत ने उन्हें प्रसिद्धि की शिखर तक पहुंचा दिया। एक दिन, क्रिस्टीज़ ऑक्शन में उनकी एक पेंटिंग 20 लाख अमेरिकी डॉलर में बिकी और वह भारत के सबसे महंगे पेंटर बन गए। आर्टप्राइस को यदि प्रसिद्धि का पैमाना मानें तो दुनिया के महंगे कलाकारों में हुसैन का मुकाम 136वां है।
हुसैन पर फिदा थे कला की इस विशाल दुनिया के हजारों-लाखों लोग। इसकी ढेरों वजह हैं। वह किसी कलाकार की तरह यदि संवेदनशील थे तो व्यावहारिक भी। वह जानते थे कि किस तरह चर्चाओं में शामिल हुआ जा सकता है। उनकी चर्चा दोनों ओर होती, आलोचकों के लिए वह एक ऐसे आर्टिस्ट थे जिसे किसी आस्था से सरोकार नहीं और पैसा कमाना ही जिसका ध्येय है। उन पर हिंदू-देवी देवताओं के अश्लील चित्र बनाने का भी आरोप लगा था। 1955 में भारत सरकार ने उन्हें पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया था। इसके बाद पद्म भूषण और राज्यसभा की सदस्यता के लिए मनोनीत होने का बड़ा सम्मान भी हासिल हुआ। भारत से इतना सम्मान और प्रतिष्ठा पाने वाले मकबूल से निराशा तब हाथ लगी जब उन्होंने भारतीय नागरिकता छोड़ दी। दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण उनका बयान भी था कि भारत ने मेरा बहिष्कार किया इसलिये मैं कतर की नागरिकता स्वीकार कर रहा हूं। दक्षिणपंथी संगठनों ने उनके मुस्लिम होने पर नहीं बल्कि कला और अभिव्यक्ति पर हमला किया। मुझ पर हमला हुआ तो सरकार, कलाकार और बुद्धिजीवी सब चुप रहे।
... और चाहने वालों के लिए वह हुसैन थे। वह इतने प्रसिद्ध हो गए, कि उन्हें प्रतिष्ठित फोर्ब्स मैग्जीन ने इंडियन पिकासो का नाम दे दिया। एमएफ हुसैन उन लोगों में से एक थे जो सुंदरता की कद्र करते हैं। प्रशंसक कहते कि पुरातन काल से ही हमारा देश कला का मुरीद रहा है। सुंदरता देखने वाले की आंखों में होती है। मुगल काल में राजा-महाराजा और उच्च घराने कलाकारों को संरक्षण प्रदान कर उनकी कला का आदर करते थे। दुर्भाग्य से आज कलाकृति के सौंदर्य को अश्लीलता कहा जाता है। प्राचीन कला उत्तेजक कलाकृतियों से भरपूर रही है। पुरुष और महिला का आलिंगनबद्ध प्रदर्शन प्राचीन कला का मुख्य आकर्षण रहा है। लेकिन आज नग्नता को सिर्फ अश्लीलता की आंखों से देखा जाता है। मकबूल फिदा हुसैन की पेंटिंग को अश्लील कहने वालों पर दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने भी कटाक्ष किया था। देशभर में उनके विरुद्ध मामलों के स्थानांतरण पर सुनवाई करते हुए जस्टिस संजय किशन कौल ने कहा कि अदालत में हुसैन के खिलाफ केस दर्ज करने वाले लोग लगता है कभी भी समकालीन कला के दर्शन के लिए आर्ट गैलरी नहीं गए। अगर गए होते तो उन्हें पता होता कि सिर्फ हुसैन ही नहीं बल्कि कई प्रमुख पेंटर नग्नता को अपनी अभिव्यक्ति के रूप में पेश कर चुके हैं। कुछ भी हो, आर्टिस्ट हुसैन का दुनिया से जाना सचमुच दुखभरी घटना है। मेरी ओर से उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि।
A new plant I learned about after moving in my house
is the Canna Lily. Not a true Lily, again, don't be confused by the common
names of plants. They are tall plants with huge leaves and topped by beautiful
delicate flowers. Generally the foliage is more impressive than the flowers but
many cultivars have been bred to accentuate the flowers.
When I moved into my new home it was winter so I
had to wait till the Spring to see what plants and flowers were planted in my
front and back yards.
