Labour Saving Trick In House-Hold Tasks


·      List down the whole day activities.

·      Keep some space for unexpected and urgent activities.

·      Divide the work among all family members.

·      Combine work of similar nature, i.e. making dough, frying masalas, and boiling potatoes, etc.

·      arrange heavy work in between the light work at the same time.

·      Always work at the proper place meant for performing work.

·      Use time and labour saving devices for doing the work.

·      Avoid unnecessary steps while different tasks.

·      Always have positive attitude toward work.

·      Always work in right posture which eliminates unnecessary fatigue.

·      Right postures for doing various tasks are

·      squatting posture for any work is tiring.  If possible do cooking, dish washing, cloth washing and ironing in the standing posture on a shelf or table which is 30 -32 inch height. In this posture where is minimum strain on the back muscles and bones.

·      Don’t squat to perform any activity.

·      Do mopping in standing posture with long handled broom.

·      Washing of floor should be done in sitting -cum -bending posture rather than standing - cum -bending .

·      Stitching should should be done with foot sewing machine.  If at all it has to be done with hand sewing machine, you must sit on a stool of appropriate height and place the machine on a table in front of you at an appropriate height which does not let you bend forward all.

·      Never start too many activities at the same time which you cannot manage.  This makes you run at different places time and again and increases input for work.

·      The activity which require considerable thinking should be performed away from noise because the noisy area does not let you work peacefully and leads to errors in work, which in turn, increases the tension and woes.

·      One could not have too many breaks in work because every time some  energy and time is wasted  in warming you up for work.

·      Have some rest when you are tires is the work efficiency is increased.

·      Organise your work and work place begin altering starting actual work. That saves lot of tension, time and energy.

·      With all these above said points, energy can be saved in household work and fatigue can be reduced to the minimum.
