It’s a beautiful October

Welcome to Today’s Flowers. It’s a beautiful October day here and the temps are cooler now with the recent heavy rains that we’ve had. . I thought my potted plants would start to float in all that deluge!!

The Crape Jasmine/Tabemaemontana divaricata is a shrub found across India. The shrub can grow up to six feet in height. The blooms appear throughout the year.

Although I’ve posted the picture of these tiny coral flowers before, I can’t resist doing it again. The Australian Bottle Plant/Jatropha podagrica is another commonly seen plant in Indian gardens. This jatropha is also known as the Buddha Belly plant.

All the gulmouhurs are soaked and drenched. Fiery summer meets cool. Wet monsoon.shimmering drops cling to feathery leaves and scorching petals.such an incredibly beautiful combination!

Day 66 and since the monsoon started and itsstill  pouring….magical!

Just a note to say,”Summer was here!”

A blistering, roasting, energy-sapping tropical kind of summer.

Reviled, perhaps. Moaned about, definitely. yet so infinitely a part of us.

Summer was here. All too soon the mad exuberance of spring and the harvest season slows to a sultry crawl.

When its Summer, the earth swings to a slower rhythm. The clock slows, sounds mute, movements gentle. Its Summer way of life.

xoxo
