My plants,a Quote of the day.

I love ivy. Its my fav houseplant. My relatives sometimes took a twig of my ivy(without my notice) there is a myth if one steals away this plant to install in his/her own house, it flourishes and speed up multiplying...there is another myth ...when ivy in somebody’s house propagates vigorously..It means the owner of the house is rich...having much money..

I always have ivy in my house.Its cute that its tendrils wind and curve around anything they touch. There is something loving about that “reaching out” and “embracing”in its nature, something about its foraging and striving to expand that seduces me. And ivy leaves are so beautiful and elegant with even oblong shape. I love to grow Devil’s Ivy Raphidophora aurea and Epipremnum aureum version in my house. I mix them up in pots and planters and mass them together on one shelf to create a cascading effect. The texture looks wonderful. I also intersperse the planters with ornaments, like black Wedgwood jasperware, antique silver containers’ and decorative orbs.

The leaves of this plant will change from a bright green and yellow spotted leaf designs to a solid green color if the plant is not getting enough light. It’s just that simple! Although variety of ivy plant does well in many situations and isn’t something to thrust into bright light, with minimal lighting it will actually produce only solid green leaves, and literally change it’s spots.

As more office buildings are opting to leave their lights off all weekend long, or install motion sensitive lights to conserve energy, plants that enjoy 7 day per week light are adapting to far less light per week. While Devil’s Ivy is not damaged by less light, if the color change bothers you it may be time to move the plant to a location underneath an emergency light that is on 24 hours per day – 7 days per week, or nearer a window.

It may take a few months, but with a little more light, your plant will return it’s leaf pattern to what it was when you purchased it.

It is said that ivy indoors was adored by victorians, who popularized it as a houseplant for interior decoration. There are many foliage plants that adore and have in my house. But ivy is superb in its growth that’s why it’s been portrayed in art and used in numerous decorative ways, inside and outside. As a foliage plant, it is one of the most popular and beautiful.

I hung my ivy pots from the ceiling and on a peg on wall so that their tendrils dangle down, and i also prefer them grounded on floor of my backyard and front yard and on shelves.

Gazy stole and stool cover...slow crochet work, Hibiscus Bloom and Lazy Weekend

I started this lacy stole last month its still reached 1/3 the 2/3 part is still to crochet

very slow to crochet

i found this one in wool yarn above today.....i will try for the cotton with some extra stitches or longer stitches like triple crochet.or may be bigger then that......

If I would have decided to make it will be a good stole for summer especially when crocheted in cotton…isn’t it……I found it from HERE i will try it for the next..

We are in possession of two stools in same size ........

So i will go for a wool yarn to crochet the another one like the above i Googled today....Right!

My Hibiscus/china rose

I was so happy on Saturday as my beloved Hibiscus gave me a bloom after I'd repotted it and severely pruned it. I admit, I left one stem uncut and this is the one which flowered. I used my iPhone on all the photos in this post. I'm very pleased with the results from my iPhone. Look at this amazing bloom! See the fuzzy end of the stamen? A truer red cannot be found.

I sidled behind the big rack to get up close and personal with this flower for it's photo shoot. :-) It's aiming it's face at the sunshine and light through the window.

It's exciting to see the new growth coming below all the cuts.

My mom was staring at me while taking pics of my hibiscus, she is having huge knowledge of plants, their uses benefits etc, she inherited all these from her grandmaa.

My Caladiums, recycling

Caladiums are so pretty! They are like
mini elephant ear plants. I usually place them in a row around my front yard. I'm into container gardening now, so will try
to put them in nice sturdy pots this time.

When asked to name my favorite plant I often say “Caladiums,” if I’m not currently enamored of some other species at the time. Caladiums (Caladium lindeniim hortulanum) have been my most consistent number one choice throughout my gardening years.

When our mother was confined to home in her later years, my daughter and I planted a large swath of caladiums in containers in our front yard. For many months each summer she enjoyed a kaleidoscope of red, pink, white, and green. She called them her butterflies.

For long-lasting summer color and ease of care, they just can’t be beat. In our shade blessed area, I’m often surprised we don’t see more of them. They do well in hanging baskets or pots as well as in the ground and thrive in well-drained moist shady spots with filtered sun or morning sun and afternoon shade. There are varieties that will survive full sun, although they will need more water and colors are more vibrant when grown in shade.

These plants are so beautiful. The large container doesn't have to be fancy.
this pot is recycled with plastic paint bucket, poly bag yarn braids are wrapped around it and voila creation ........ isn't it!
