I used to grab my mommy’s knitting needles and unsuccessfully
tried to knit.
One day my friend’s elder sis came to me and caught me doing
play with mommy’s needles and she asked me to bring new ball of thread which
was there for future use in almirah,and two sticks of our broom, she cut short
the broom sticks peel off them to make fine for needles, cast on a bunch of
stitches and showed me how to create stitch, teaching me how to knit via the
method she acquainted with. I loved making the stitches, excited when I saw my
favorite color, blue. I used to take those knitting needles in my bag while
going to school and knit during my journey to school in air force coach. The
conductor in the coach named Kalish stunned watching me knitting, and told to
the coach driver, “see this little is knitting like a lady, how strange!!!”
Later on mommy taught me how to knit when I was 7 years old, due
to my grabbing her knitting needles from her knitting bag. we were living at
Jamnagar, Gujarat and I was in 3rd standard at Hindi High School there. One
day she took me to the Baniya shop at
Air force station campus, bought me a ball of cotton thread that was
variegated, three colours, and a set of steel needles pointed at both sides.
Mommy cast on a bunch
of stitches for me and showed me how to create a knit stitch,
teaching me how
to knit via the English method. "I'll show you how to purl,
sweetheart,
when you make a knitted scarf," she informed me. I loved making the
stitches, excited when I saw my favorite color, purple. Once my beginner scarf
was
completed, Mommy showed me how to make stockinette stitch by doing a knit
row
and then a purl row.later in life till now knitting and crocheting are my
leisure

I have a small confession to make, and I hope you might be able to
relate: I find it really difficult to throw away used glass jars and bottles.
Yes, I recycle – of course I do – but I can’t help seeing the repurposing

ever-growing collection on my room’s windowsill, and although I use them to store
all sorts of things, from buttons to coins to crochet hooks, they’re mostly
practical, rather than pretty. The solution? A quick and easy, but
super-effective Hambly makeover.
I am going to improve my knitting skills by tackling fair isle, annoying tiny 3 ply wool, number 4 needles and lacy knitting. I am also going to try sewing again. I already have the yarn and the fabric I need
for the projects I have earmarked and as such I'll expand my family’s wardrobe
and save money at the same time.

Yesterdy while transplanting some newly grown marrigold flowers in our empty pots and doing cleaning in our balcony we (me and my niece) were stunned ..yes I think its past activity that is going on……… .and on…….for the past couple of months and interesting activity had been taking place in my little balcony garden….the photo will show the truth.sharing a few shots of it here.

It seems(see the picture below) its really a couple of months activity…..INDEED…..see hundreds of them settled there, they seemed to be enjoying the groove of plants with marrigolds..roses…………and beautiful red coleus, the keli herb, the elephant plants..and many others……..

Shawl is not easy to make, its a lengthy process, and when the needles are large(min here are NO.4). While the pattern is messy one but you need to be attentive all the time for the pattern, the yarn is 3 ply acrylic.

fabric yarn basket at my arms length is easy to grasp the yarn in need...
it looks bulky, but it not.....
pattern says knit one ,yarn over and knit two together till the end ,on the wrong side knit all the stitches again repeat beginning row for the pattern these two rows make the pattern
I like to sit on my balcony and knit when the
days are as nice and warm as they are now. In my head I have seen yarns
fall from the table onto the floor and entangle my hairs, sometime it is
attacked by the neighbor's red-haired cat ... No fun! Even if one is
careful and extra careful, the nest always falls to the floor sometimes.
Then I came up with the amazing idea of
putting the yarn in one of the basket I made with my fabric and put it on the
table. Vips! No falls on the
floor, . Oh, how smart I think I am
;-)
I made this fabric basket myself,I want to make another one, but now I have so many knitting projects going
on that go ahead.
Now the knitwear will give way to the balcony
for matar paneer to be cooked on our gas. Mmmm
... lovely Happy days !!
