blocking of crochet lace work,Pics of my grand daughter

Last weakened, in between coughs, sniffles and whines, I finished several small crochet articles I supposed to complete. All these were lying in my basket of UFo’s. I looked back through my nin-searchable hand-written journal and couldn’t find the exact date that I started, but I only write three sentences a day, so perhaps if it was the fourth most significant thing that happened that day. Some time ago I bought aa bunch of yarn at the pushpa shop, and immediately crocheted some small thingy  crochet.

I crocheted a granny square handkerchief for my daughter,a pinapple motif lavender pouch, one another kerchief in grey for her a block to make her vest in lace I need several such blocks to complete her vest

Click the pic to have a close-up view of the stitch pattern of all the items. Since I would go for months without working on the vest blocks, the most challenging part was always just remembering where I’d left off. Here I blocked only one block of the vest rest are waiting to be blocked.

In the top photo, at  the left you can see the pineapple block in pink colour, crochet lace fabric needs to be blocked, or dampened and stretched, in order to actually make lace .this involves briefly soaking the fabric in lukewarm water, spilling the entire amount of water in the floor, draping the fabric over a towel, rolling up the towel, squeezing it as much as possible, and then pinning it to a foam blocking board in the dimensions specified by the pattern.

The knitted sweaters also need to be blocked. I remember when I was in sixth slandered I knitted a sweater for Home-science project and that sweater was blocked over a towel or you can say layed to drape and to  be dried on the towel.

BG 3.17:But those who rejoice in the self, who are illumined and fully satisfied in the self, for them, there is no duty.

I made this sun burst mirror using magazines' glossy and hard covers, the sticks are very hard like wooden sticks..

the sun burst mirror is replaced with clock in this computer room

the basket behind baby is crocheted using hard poly bags
my cuty is smiling
Oh my goodness that is so sweet!

I could pinch those cheeks.
Of course the "basket" does go nicely with cutie baby!

We all live a life of which beauty is a part. While we are all not named as artists, each of us responds in some way to that which is beautiful. Many of us see a necessity of keeping beauty around us. Vibrant color, fascinating form and designs, exciting textures and patterns seem to fill some part of our soul. In my mind an artist is simply one who makes beauty visible (and certainly audible or tactile) and thereby holds onto the beautiful for a little longer"  I still feel this way and crafting is the vehicle by which I can make beauty visible.

The most precious thing EVER!!! Melted my heart!

Adorable, God must have blessed her with all Beauty

These days

Weather keeps happening too.  We still have pollution on the ground from the burning of parallies( rice crop residue)since  last month! Yesterday we had a huge thunderstorm...one inch of rain in half an hour....and a rainbow!:)

....busy decorating a  tree....jtropa with lights  for Guru Nank Ji’s birth anniversary.
Now we need to illuminate  it!

holy bhagwad geeta, my grand daughter's animation

मात्रास्पर्शास्तु कौन्तेय शीतोष्णसुखदु: खदा: |
आगमापायिनोऽनित्यास्तांस्तितिक्षस्व भारत || 14||
BG 2.14: O son of Kunti, the contact between the senses and the sense objects gives rise to fleeting perceptions of happiness and distress. These are non-permanent, and come and go like the winter and summer seasons. O descendent of Bharat, one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Commentary:The human body houses five senses—the senses of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing—and these, in contact with their objects of perception, give rise to sensations of happiness and distress. None of these sensations is permanent. They come and go like the changing seasons. Although cool water provides pleasure in the summer, the same water gives distress in the winter. Thus, both the perceptions of happiness and distress experienced through the senses are transitory. If we permit ourselves to be affected by them, we will sway like a pendulum from side to side. A person of discrimination should practice to tolerate both the feelings of happiness and distress without being disturbed by them.
The technique of Vipassanā, which is the primary technique of self-realization in Buddhism, is based on this principle of tolerance of sense perceptions. Its practice helps eliminate desire, which, as stated in the four noble truths (the truth of suffering, the truth of the origin of suffering, the truth of the cessation of suffering, and the truth of the path leading to the cessation), is the cause of all suffering. This is not surprising considering that Buddhist philosophy is a subset of the vast Vedic philosophy

महान संत कवि बुल्ले शाह,rehana

  l heart her poses

she changes her poses in every second

On my lap in front of computer

She reacts like her father when he was a baby

Rehan's  pics of Sept 26,2014  ,8:10AM
Rehana my grand daughter is very calm baby I remember my own kids Rehan’s  father and her aunt Vipin they cry a lot. Ever since they've been in the world. For the first ten months, usually  the firstborn basically cried. From week 6 to week 11 also due to severe colic, which did not stop later: only for a moment I stopped singing, reading, strumming the guitar, dancing, showing all the animals glued to the walls… his form had already started growl in crying. I learned how to use my left hand very well, because it kept staring at me, I remember how I used to cook lunch: it was chopped on the counter in the shell, I was chopping vegetables on the board and rocking the shell with my foot so that the toys were on it I was moving here and there, and that made me miss at least enough to put it all on the stove.

Rehana is 16 months

“juuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssss”is what Rehana  is saying in this first picture. More like, "eeeeees" really. Rehna rehana... she can be so somber around other people and then the funniest little ham around her family. I LOOOOVE this stage right now. Watching her literally toddling around the house, trying to run fast and bonking into things as she gains balance. She makes all of us laugh.
One of our favorite games at dinner time is "Following Rehna." It is hilarious what Rehana will try to make us do and she gets such a kick out of it!
She is the pickiest eater and is still just a little runt. ;) I'm sure people are shocked when we tell them she is 14 months . But while she is small, she can understand everything you say. It's amazing. Baby brains blow my mind.
She takes one nap a day, usually around 12 for about an hour- hour and a half. She goes to bed at 11, wakes up at 7/8ish.
Sh folds her arms voluntarily during the prayer, and busts out    "ah-ah-ah" when told to sin.
She loves to play with cars,  monkey, throw balls, make disasters, play with Komal, watch outside the window, be outside, and see animals.
RehanaLOVES animals. LOVES. Dogs has been so fun for her because our park is like a zoo, so she will just look outside the window forever yelling, "bir! bir!" Bird. Ha. We sure love this little girl with all our hearts!!

Rehan’s words: bird, dog, ball, mommy/mom, up, down, hi, dada, apple, baba (bottle), Ya/no, uh-oh, su-su  (and pats her hips).
