my black and orange dress Wiz Khalifa( One Hit Wonder) Thrill Of It-

Today I stumbled upon Wiz Khalif ‘s rap song “Black and Yellow” and inspired for this post of my dress!

It was Diwali cleaning (last year) has allowed me to be reintroduced to my stash!  I found this cotton shisha work fabric in black and orange  that I bought in jaipur, Rajasthan probably around 2005.  On first look at the shop, I murmured “I would love to wear dress out of this fabric!!”I bought it there and then.I decided it would be perfect for my summer dress.
Fortunately, enough time has past that I have forgotten how expensive this fabric was or I would be afraid to cut it( because of shisha embriodery on it).  But in my renewed interest in sewing, I've also decided that the time has come to use the "good" fabric rather than saving it for some mythical perfect project.
I love this fabric; I've used cotton from this shop before.  It sews beautifully, it takes high heat during pressing, and it a breeze to wash and wear (no ironing required).  Ignore the wrinkles in my photo above; it was taken after a full day of work.
Normally I am a natural fabric snob but mostly I have to use any tipe of fabric as teel ( a complete dress material gifted to girls)giving culture of Haryanvi’s  s insists me to do this. This very reasonably priced fabric is a pleasure to sew. The pattern(my own) pattern miraculously renewed my excitement in sewing!  And then I decided that I needed to evolve another brand new pattern with crochet trims for my next project:  no repeat projects, is my new rule!  (But if I do, I'll dispense with the armhold facings and just use bias binding instead.)
This is one of those happy projects where the garment ends up looking exactly as I imagined it when I saw the fabric!

Sorry for the pics with wrinkles

Again as Diwali is around the corner from now. It is Diwali cleaning that has allowed me to be reintroduced to my deep buried dresses! And I dug it out

Calender hour of the past..and now!

Benchmark schedule of the day
I did mush with this calender I transformed it into the mat….one day while stairing at it I become nostelgic…….like the purpose of making it …….how strongly my kids used to fallow their schedule of homework, game and other duties imposed upon them….then I thought what a magic and organized we became if we fallow certain rules strictly…like we do earlier…..and I took promises to stick on’…
Like..i will purchase vegs and fruits to consume on that day only ! what is the use to buy lots of apple today when we didn’t agree to have them within 2-3 days……….puting them in the fridge for long to consume electricity…….
Also for other things we shop only once a week. If we’re short of milk, drink tea.if we’re out of apples, eat bers. There’s no need to have one of everything we like in the house once. Except detergents.i will go to baniya shop for that, butnothing else.  Multiple trips to the store to pick up this or that really crowd my days, so I don’t do it!
We will use a calender.everything on the calender is a commitment, nothing is a commitment until it’s on the calendar.  And the calendar stays at home.  Which means, I can’t agree to anything until I think about it.  And don’t buy one of those ones where a day is a whole page, you might actually be tempted to fill it!
Really we only agree to do what we really want to do. Saying

NO is a very important part of keeping your day simple.  Just because someone else thinks we SHOULD do something as often as they wish has little impact on our decision. Sure I’d like to say no to the ladies who come to me for instructions of recycling projects. I will volunteer my services strictly three days in a week.
We will organize our days around bench marks.
The breakfast at sharp 9:10, lunch 2:30, dinner 9:30 bed time11:30.

The day is organized around benchmarks. I have four things on my mental to do list.  8:35, 3:45, 5:00, and 7:30.  When the kids are off to school, when I get in the car line, when hubby gets home, and the kids’ bedtime.  There’s no scheduling to the minute, ever.  I just know what has to be done for those four things to happen.
We have to ignore yoga if it’s visit to village farm. If there’s a long walk then there’s no meeting friends in the park

Eid Ul Adha

Happy Aid to my childhood friend Khalida we were classmates at Shishu Vihar Hindi High School Jamnagar

And to Aisha khaatoon, Azmala baano, Jmsheed, baano  who were my friends in Normal School, ShahGanj Agra

Yes today is
Eid Ul Adha celebrated by all Muslims across the World.

Here is part of the Wikipedia explanation and the link:
Eid al Adha

Eid al-Adha, also called Feast of the Sacrifice, the Major Festival, the Greater Eid and Bakr Eid, is an important 4-day religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his young firstborn son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of submission to God and his son's acceptance of the sacrifice before God intervened to provide Abraham with a ram to sacrifice instead.

Different cultures celebrate Eid differently but most celebrate today with either new clothes or gifts for the children. Many people spend Eid visiting friends and family.  I think it is important to inform the children of why we celebrate Eid otherwise I think it would end up similar to how I believe Christmas is celebrated for the Christians where most of the children automatically expect all the presents but don't celebrate the meaning of the day itself.

My article for WE.........

Today on request of the editor womansera i am sending the fallowing article for publication....
Spa health- water

Water is considered a life. Our scripture and tradition rated it as resolution and witness. Isn’t our tradition of storytelling in front of filled pitcher is ever un-thoughtful? Could water be spell down? Could it witness? Testimonial?-Science has proved water has life-mind-brain;it thinks, it vibrates and it expresses too.we will know its unknown self through the  findings of a researcher, to be whole heartedly healthy .Once when I was in hostel, I felt a bit odd when my friend told me to say some Mantras over the water, blow on it, then drink for my health. Isn’t it a bit superstitious? Anyhow since, my childhood years I was taught to say “thanks to God” before I eat or drink. Many people got their “abhimantrit Jal” done by holy man who puts a bowl of water in front of him when he perform puja and use the water for healing

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting in my front balcony with my back facing our main gate and stunned on hearing, “having arrived to India exactly one week ago, I feel quiet settled now, but there is definitely a lot I have to say about my days in Japan”. She was my friend Khalida she gifted me a DVD of “Water” the movie. How sweet of her, she knows my obsession with water since I acquainted with some research findings of a famous researcher from Japan. Not to be confused it with Deepa Mehta’s Oscar Nominated Movie “Water”. This movie was produced by Saida Medvedeva. This is a documentary about how human intentions not only change the structure of water, but how our thoughts can alter our environment. It features various international scientists, including the very famous water researcher Dr Masaru Emoto.Upon viewing movie, I was so moved, inspired and compelled to share what I learned with you, the readers of WE. It is one of the latest and highly acclaimed documentaries to have come out. It opens our minds to a whole new way of seeing and understanding water.
Let's start with the facts;
·         WATER flushes toxins from your body and prevents constipation; Water helps the bodies get rid of acid waste and alkalize, slowing the aging process.
·         Water helps convert food into energy.
·         Water helps you fight colds and other viruses. Water also helps in curing any disease related to the kidney. Sufficient water intake will help you avoid fatigue and decreasing cancer namely colo cancer, bladder and breast cancer.
·         Surprisingly, drinking enough water can considerably reduce joint and back pains too.
·         Drinking sufficient water daily will help your skin hydrated always and improve your skin condition, especially for those suffering from dry skin problem. Water moisturizes your skin from the inside making it more youthful looking.
·         Dehydration is the No. 1 cause of daytime fatigue, headaches and heartburn. Been having regular headaches is one indicator that your body is dehydrated and need more water intake. So drink plain water regularly to promote better blood circulation and prevent as well as alleviates headaches. Drinking water can preserve and maintain good level of blood pressure and ensure that the heart functions more effectively
·         Water intake help to maintain body weight by increasing metabolism and regulating -appetite, and keeps you slimmer.
Water plays a key role in weight loss. According to Donald S. Robertson M.D in his book The Snowbird Diet water may be the single most important catalyst in losing weight and keeping it off. The health and healing properties of water have long been associated with the spas since ancient tmes.
OK, so we know the benefits
but how much is enough?
According to the brilliant book “Your bodies many cries for water” by Dr. Batmanghelidj you can do a simple calculation according to your body weight.
Your weight in kilograms multiplied by 35 milliliters (or weight in pounds multiplied by 0.55 ounces)=Total Plain water requirement over 24 hours.
Weight(kg) x 35 milliliters = Total water
Water should be consumed over the course of the day. You should not drink water with meals, ideally 30 minutes before meals and 2 ½ hours after meals, is  the better option.  Guidelines keep changing with time too.
Scientific proof of Water as carrier of Mantras!
Water is the main source of life.
It is this one of components that scientists have been searching for in the universe to identify life.
Needless to say that water is central to almost all Vedic rituals- the contact with water for starting any act (sankalpa and achamanam), the mantra-purified water to remove all negativities, the water given as oblations to pay back the three types of debts – for devas, rishis and pithrus) and water to render all auspiciousness –water is the purifier, carrier and transporter of whatever is desired. See some of the customs that used to offer with water.
Achamanam:
Sipping a little water, in the prescribed manner, for self-purification, remembering the Supreme All-pervading Reality.
Marjanam: Prayer for the purification of the body and mind. Invoking all the waters of the Earth which form the cause of the emergence and sustenance of all life, by sprinkling water on
oneself, to enable one to be attuned to the cosmic life and reality.
In Bhagavad-Gita, Chapter 9, Text 26, God says, “If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.”
This supreme characteristic of water has been scientifically demonstrated by the Japanese Dr.Masaru Emoto.

Quality of the water we consume
One of the interesting things I’ve learned about water comes from Dr Masaru Emoto. It is a concern to me as I am sure it is to you.
It was in 2004 when I got my copy of  Bharativa Jananpith’s journal Naya Gyanodaya (2004,March issue), with the theme “BIN PAANI SUB SOON” where my research based article “Gramin Mahilaaon dvaaraa paanii laanaa- ek kathin kaam” was featured on page 233. In that issue I came across an article“Paani sochtaa, anubhav kartaa aur vykt kartaa hai (water thinks, feels and expresses itself) based on the research findings on water. Evidently, a Japanese scientist (Dr Masaru Fmoto) found away to photograph water crystals that form when the water is frozen. These crystals look like snowflakes, each unique, intricate and beautiful.   His basic premise is that water forms beautiful crystals when it’s pure and you send it good thoughts and turns ugly and asymmetrical if you send it negative thoughts. See some of the pictures here;

I was impressed at the time, thought it interesting, but didn't dig deeper until a few weeks ago. When perusing one of my favorite bookstores, I came across Emoto's bestselling book, "The Hidden Messages in Water" and couldn't put it down. The photographs in the book are impressive in of themselves, but I found his theories on our health and emotions eerily fascinating.
I was fascinated when I saw photos of Dr Emoto’s water crystals in this book (the photos were there in the Naya Gyanodaya too, but a few).  There are 32 color pages in the Hidden Messages in Water featuring dozens of photographs of water crystals subjected to different songs, words, and stimuli.
He photographed frozen water crystals and found that the water crystals formed different patterns when it was exposed to words, prayers or music.
Dr Emoto found that even writing words on a piece of paper and taping it to the outside of the bottle caused the water to change its expression.
Names such as Mother Teresa and M Gandhi (Father of our Nation) produced beautiful crystalline patterns while Hitler created a muddied ugly pattern.
A combination of the words LOVE and GRAYITUDE were found to be the most powerful thought for transforming the water.
His answer to our health as individuals-and for our world-is love and gratitude. About photographs of water crystals he says, the response of water to love and gratitude is nothing less than grandeur,” noting that it’s both of the words together that create the most beautiful crystals. He says that while the power of love cannot be denied, it needs to be balanced by gratitude. We must begin by learning what it means to have enough.”
The results of his research are proof for the first time that our thoughts and feelings have a direct effect on our reality. We have the power to impact the Earth as well as our own health.
So express love and gratitude for the water that runs freely from your tap and drink to your health
No any need of Rubber stamp
I recently saw a Brahma Kumari’s programme on TV and heard about the water having a memory. That is, of course, the outcome of research of Dr Emoto on water. I really enjoyed that informative talk on something I imagined did contain some element of the “human brain capacity”, a memory.
Also, I heard a Sufi teacher say once, “Gratitude opens many doors.” Mysticism and the science come together in Dr. Emotes interesting research on water.

Energize your water your health
Here is the method
1. Start the process with a clear glass vessel (jar, bottle, and pitcher), peel off all labels and clean the outside of the vessel.
{The best water vessel(bottle) you can use for this process(and also to carry your water around with you) is not going to be made of any type of plastic, aluminum or other metal (steel is OK and better than plastic, but again it will leach steel and nickel into your water which are toxic to the body). Using glass vessels (bottles) for drinking water storage is ideal. Clay, ceramic and wood can be used as well (watch out for toxic glazes!) but are impractical for carrying around with you. Having a glass water bottle (or mason jar) will make you respect your water more (since you'll be aware of not accidentally breaking it) which results in far less careless "trauma" or jarring to the water.}
Cut a piece of paper as per your writing tool, fonts (size and type) you want to use as your intentions, “love and gratitude” should be the first one as found out to be best as per Dr Emoto(described above in this article). These two words in combination create the most beautiful and harmonious patterns that exit in nature’s palette.
2. Most of us don’t treat water with much respect. Consequently our municipal supplies are full of chemical and our outdoor supplies are full of pollutants. I buy my distilled water myself; if pouring the tap water into our fish tank (aquarium) would kill the fish, I certainly don’t want to swallow it
So the second step is get some mineral water or distilled water or purified water.
3. Fill the vessel with water as per the requirement of your family to drink or as per the capacity of your vessel. Keep in front of a music source, if you have talent to sing you could sing to your water or pray over it. If you have a pain or illness that you want to leave your body then add another message such as” illness or pain has gone.”
Tape the messages to the vessel facing inwards towards the water (you might be aware of the reverse words seen through the tracing paper or through butter paper). Put the vessel with water in front of your stereo speakers away from microwaves, televisions, computers or cell phones. These devices emit electromagnetic waves that distort the naturally healing structures as shown in Dr Emoto’s photos.
This is the best water for your health i.e. the health as defined by WHO.
WHO definition of HEALTH
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
The correct bibliographic citation for the definition is:
Preamble to the Constitution of the World Health Organization as adopted by the International Health Conference, New York, 19-22 June, 1946; signed on 22 July 1946 by the representatives of 61 States (Official Records of the World Health Organization, no. 2, p. 100) and entered into force on 7 April 1948.
The Definition has not been amended since 1948.
The book tells to pray for food too
Perhaps the most compelling story in this book, at least for me, was when a family experimented with rice. They put rice in three jars, and every day for a month, they said “Thank you” to the first jar, “You fool” to the second jar, and completely ignored the third jar. After a month, the rice that was told “Thank you” started to ferment, with a mellow smell like that of malt. The second jar that was exposed to the words “You fool” rotted and turned black. Interestingly, though, the jar that was ignored rotted before the rice that was exposed to “You fool.”
My new year's resolution
To manifest more love and gratitude in my life, exactly how I'm going to do that is yet to be seen, but I'm going to start by paying more attention to water. The water in my glass, the water in the tub, the water that makes up the bodies of my family and friends. I'll choose my words more carefully. May be even say a blessing before a meal, a drink, or a bath. I expect you too to respect your water for your Health and well being of the World.

“When you have become the embodiment of gratitude, think about how pure the water that fills your body will be. When this happens, you yourself will be a beautiful shining light.” -Masaru Emoto

We light akhand jyoti that keeps burning throughout the nine days of Navratri
This jyoti represents the immense devotion for Goddess Durga.

It is also a message to the devotees to never lose hope even in worst circumstances just like the little diya lights even the darkest places. It also shows that devotion will bring the light of knowledge in your life.
According to 'mantra-mahodadhi'-'Deepam ghrut yutam dakshe, tel yutah ch vamatah'       Meaning: Diya with ghee should be kept on the right hand side of the Goddess and the oil lit diya should be kept on the left hand side of the Goddess.
The akhand jyoti should be kept burning throughout the nine days. Keep a small diya in case you need to add oil or move the wicker of the akhand jyoti then light the small lamp with the akhand jyoti and keep it aside.
If in any case the akhand jyoti blows out then I  use the small lamp to light it again. Also I make sure to blow out the small lamp by dipping it in ghee.

Navratri, Puja  at my  tiny corner
