कंप्यूटर खोलते ही यह तस्वीर देखकर मैं मंत्रमुग्ध हो गई और इस स्थान के बारे में जानने की मेरी उत्सुकता बढ़ गई।

Quick way to wrap the sofa with new cloth

Being fed up with sewing! New un-stitched covers for sofa seats!

 I decided to make a quickie No Sew project

 I bought this green Casement green fabric from Haryana Handloom shop in my city. This was a no sew project that gave me a bit of sewing satisfaction that day. I guess i should call it Faux Sewing because not a needle moved on this one. Also i tied the fabric pieces on the arms too......

I have 8 seater sofas. They have never got any rest since they came here in 2002.they are with good wood, sturdily built worth saving for long as per the cost. I have always loved them. But being in this room for long time faded their glory. I usually remodel them with changed covers. We have a “light” look in this room and I think they should be nicely kept. I accessorize them with beautiful cushions along with different covers on their 

seats. 

I got 12 yards of casement green fabric and just cut 8 pieces according to the size of each sofa. I interlocked the raw edges.

 I cantered the cushions on the fabric over my dinning in island kitchen, just a convenient spot. Then I proceeded to fold and attached with safety pins. The straight front piece needed to be nice flat.

So it was a simple matter of fold and pin. I may make a nice piped cushion further up the road but this gave me some immediate satisfaction, something I really needed after not having sewn for a while. I like the result.

After the renovation the sofa will go to another room. I think the wood is aging with repeated use of these sofa seats.

My research has shown me that a gel stain will make these look like new and then a quick coat of urethane spray to finish. I think they will look great when all is said and done but in the meantime they look better than what was previously in this room. I think you can see their potential. When children will be in a furniture moving mood I had to take advantage and shift them in my village house.  Have a look for all I did.....

कपड़े से कवर किया रसोईघर का रैक.....

मेरे रसोईघर में स्लैब के निचे के कबिनेट नहीं बनाए हुए जब भी मैं उन्हें बनाने के लिए कहती हूँ बेटे का जवाब आता है की क्यों इतना खर्च करना हमें इस घर में नहीं रहना .....लोकेशन अच्छी नहीं  .....यह घर छोटा है.....फिर बर्तन और रसोईघर की दुसरी चीजें रखने के लिए बंद सुरक्षित जगह तो चाहिए ना मैंने अपने hanyiman  से यह रैक बनवाया और फिर इसे कपड़े का कवर बना कर ढक दिया  सामने का दरवाजा ......जिप लगा कर बंद कर दिया 

यह ठीक रसोईघर के प्लेटफार्म के निचे रखा जा सकेगा 

बड़ा ही अच्छा बन गया ...मुझे लगता है मैं एक रैक और बनवाऊं और उसे भी कपडे से कवर कर दूँ ......

इसमें दो खाने हैं 

इसे मैंने चारों तरफ से कपड़े से ढक दिया 

कवर किया गया रैक 

हालांकि मैंने यह नीले बड़े फूलों वाला कपड़ा जो की १००% सूती है ...कुर्सियों के कवर बनाने के लिए खरीदा था ...और इसका उपयोग हुआ  रैक  को कवर करने के लिए..
इस रैक कवर में तिन तह लगी हैं
१...ऊपर का नीले रंग के फूलों वाला यह कपड़ा जो बाहर दिखाई दे रहा है.
२. अन्दर की प्लास्टिक की शीट..(शीट  जो मैंने सामान पैक के साथ आई थी सहेज रखी थी) ताकि धूल मिटटी रैक के अन्दर ना जाए ..और
३. तीसरा  अन्दर का अस्तर जो कि मैंने  पुराना कपड़ा इस्तेमाल किया
इस रैक कवर को बनाने का तरीका मैं आगे कभी लिखूंगी
यह बहुत सस्ते मैं बन गया ....उपयोगी और देखने में सुन्दर भी है..

Cute Jumper for cute Niece.........

This is my 2nd project of sewing dresses (My first dress project is here ) from the Fabric stash I bought for making my fabric stock. Also along with this stock I bought some fabric for my niece It's a Rajasthan Shalwar kameez (termed as jumper in our colloquial Haryanvi) dress material for my niece! Unfortunately, I can't take any pictures of her in it because I won't have enough time since I’m home from Delhi (woah!).

This was a very straightforward project and the directions were fairly simple. It didn't take very long either, it could easily be finished in a day. The measurements for the churidar was  a little bit difficult so I took help from my neighbor who is expert in sewing all types of girl’s to get the jumper to the size I needed, I took the help of her older jumper for pattern.

I've really been enjoying this dress after year’s lapse in sewing. As I got my sewing machine Not to mention it helps me think of ways to decrease my ever-growing stash of fabric.
