Amritsar, red crochet table cloth

This is the shot of Bagha border at Amritsar

March 15 (Sunday) 2009, 6:35 PM

We went to the Wag ah border. This is the border between India and Pakistan. Everyday at sunrise and sunset there is a ceremony when they open and close the gates of the border. We got there in the evening. People were selling stuff as we walked to the gate area. Both the little girls wanted to pose for a shot with the guard at border and they succeed. The first thing we saw at the gates was a friendly marching competition between the Indian and and Pakistani soldiers. The Indian soldiers kicked their legs high in the air as they marched. While they were doing that, people were yelling back and forth at each other "Hindustan, Zinda Bad!" This means "Long Live India!" The Pakistani people watching on the other side were also yelling for their country. Then, they lowered the flags. Once the soldiers went out they closed the gates. Viki thought it was one of the best things we did..

I am working on a beautiful table cloth, using very fine crochet hook and baroque cotton yarn no.10 in red. I created my own design.

XOXO
