Nag Panchami, one more folk song of sawan

Today is the festival of Naga_Panchami, on this day my grandmother not  used to churn milk (milk/curd, in Haryana it is called milk churning, actually it is curd churning). She used to narrate a story that when a woman started churning curd on the day of Nag Panchami, a snake stood in her churning pot. That’s why in Haryana women didn’t churn milk of their milch animals.

Naga_Panchami is a day of traditional worship of Nagas or snakes observed by Hindus throughout India.

The worship is offered on the fifth day of bright half of lunar month of Shravana (July/August), according to the Hindu calendar.
