लिनन

  मुझे लिनन का कपड़ा बहुत पसंद है. पिछले वर्ष मैं जब बाजार गई एक कपड़े की दूकान पर  जैसे ही मुझे सफेद रंग के आँगन वाला लिनन का कपड़ा दिखाई दिया मैंने झट खरीद लिया।  लिनन पूरी तरह से एक प्राकृतिक फैब्रिक है, जो गर्मियों में सबसे ज्यादा पसंद किया जाता है। इसे कपड़ों का एयरकंडीशनर भी कह सकते हैं। खास बात यह है कि यह फैब्रिक हमेशा हल्के और पेस्टल शेड्स में ही मिलता है, इसलिए आंखों को भी बहुत ठंडक पहुंचाता है। यह कॉटन की अपेक्षा थोड़ा महंगा होता है और इस पर बहुत जल्दी सिलवटें पड़ जाती हैं। लेकिन फिर भी गर्मियों में यह सबसे अधिक लोकप्रिय फैब्रिक माना जाता है। 

मुझे सफेद आँगन पर छीट  भी बहुत पसंद है, सो यह कपड़ा गुण (लिनन) और डिजाईन(छीट)दोनों में मेरा पसंदीदा था।  उस कपड़े से मैंने अपनी बहु और बेटी दोनों के एक-एक शर्ट सिले  और उनपर क्रोशिये से कुछ सजावट भी की बेटी के शर्ट के योक पर मैंने गुलाब के फूलों की योक लगाई और बहु  की शर्ट  पर नीचे  क्रोशिये  की खूबसूरत किनारी बनाई।

Nostalgia with Baby Rehana

The Doctor  described her as “beautiful girl”(bade dinon baad ek sundar bchhaa dikha hai ) –  she had a beautiful rosy glow, and normal body weight and length .   She checked out fine every time they looked her over, as she was on powdered milk for 24 hours, due to cesarean delivery.  So for one blissful period of 24 hours, that’s what we believed. After 24 hours she sucked her mother’s milk.  That we had been miraculously given a perfectly healthy baby,   being told she might have  minor Thalassemia  from her mother.

Front door tree, cool white of Summer

I love changing a few things when summer finally arrives. We leave doors open during the day, I used to Rome bare foot  in and out feeling very  cool while walking, the leaves rustle in the warm breeze and I don’t want to miss a minute of it.  

 Adding a change of color using hanging mobiles, flowers in bottle or vase etc.etc.which  can help transition the room from one season to the next.  Out with my sunny colourful  pillow covers of winter and spring and in with these cool cream  and white patchwork. I think they add a nice fresh look for the oncoming warm days.

Like I’ve said before, pillow covers are such an easy way to change the look of your room.  I guess I’ve always loved the clean look of navy  blue and white because when I looked through my fabric stash I came up with these favorite fabrics. I made up simple 20 x20'” squares with a zipper for easy on/easy off. A handful of Champa leaves from the front yard and my room feels fresh and cool. Let the sunshine in!

I read some psychology .......

 this morning my cup of tea begin with a book on psychology....

Swiss psychiatrist  and psychotherapist  Carl_Jung founded the field of analytical psychology and, along with Sigmund Freud,, was responsible for popularizing the idea that a person’s interior life merited not just attention but dedicated exploration — a notion that has since propelled tens of millions of people into psychotherapy. Freud, who started as Jung’s mentor and later became his rival, generally viewed the unconscious mind as a warehouse for repressed desires, which could then be codified and pathologized and treated. Jung, over time, came to see the psyche as an inherently more spiritual and fluid place, an ocean that could be fished for enlightenment and healing.

The Law of Paradoxical Intent points out the underlying paradox of personal achievement: You can get what you want by knowing that you don’t need it to be happy! It forces you to shift your focus from a desperate intention to a peaceful pursuit. Never send out the energy that you’re willing to wait to be happy — just that you’re willing to wait for the goal. Needing a particular achievement before you can live with peace and joy creates a desperate energy that’s absolute poison to the resonance of success, so be clear about your intentions and fearless in your motivations. Pursue your goals because you want them to enhance an already happy life, not because you’ll be miserable without them.
