Just imagine

Okay, if you are a creative person, then you must enjoy an active imagination. And even though this post is not craft-related per se, my thought is that you enjoy anything of admirable creativity....So my guess is you are, at least in part, a Bronte family fan. I discovered Emily Bronte when I watched the Hindi Film Dil Diya Dard Liya  based upon Emily Brontë's celebrated novel Wuthering Heights, and glommed into their  writtings   like a child does a "blankie". I love the imaginative details; and I love that it can be shown to have much deeper symbolisms, as "classic" literature.

I became a fan of Bronte family and goggled  stories about all of them(their father father sisters and brother), which added to my enjoyment of the series. One of the blog of Bronte lover    is hosted by a French reader, a well educated lover of Literature, a writer, and a teacher (among other things and I can't figure out how he fits all of it into 24 hours). The French  writer just published a  biography of
Emily Brontë; I am looking forward to reading  that. With all my own projects going on, I don't get much time to read. So when I do have time, I want what I read to be stimulating and thought provoking (unless it's at the end of a long day with my several projects, in which case several magazines with lots of pictures of crochet  and pattern suffices). If this book is anything like that writer’s commentary, it will be a good read. Even if YOU'RE not an Bronte fan, I'm pretty sure you know someone who they were.

ME MAKE-Fabric covered shelving unit

My shelving unit the……… metal rack  it was previously it was R5 unit then ihad to cut downt itw upper portion to place it under beam shelve in my store room.

Then several years of service, I decided to make its cover with fabric to keep my items dust free.
For that had to remount its upper part first. I simply attach them together using cord and tie them   stitching through the holes on them.  This cover has cords for opening and closing. Cords make opening and closing the cover easy, and corner straps hold up the flaps when I need access my items

Whatever I am storing stuff inside or out, I will love the convenience of this cover. The upper four shelves were
send witched in round openings. While the lower one for my scared books have another opening with grommets on two flap opening.
Isn’t it beautiful and convenient to use .easy to make cheap!!

Hand Made …..I think I am creative!

Early morning

There was a thunderstorm at night full of sand. Well, I woke up at 3:40 am this morning and couldn´t get back to sleep. After one hour of turning on my pillow I gave up and made tea switched on TV to listen Class of Vatsayana at  AsthaTV .
Yet I had to wait till 4:00am for the class and I become nostalgic remembering the thunder fuu of sand……

When I was younger, we lived with   in the air force areas of different parts of country and  came to the village on vacation these days. Yes these days of Jyeshthaa(May-June)were so hot in those days that hot wind and storms with dust were regular features.
Our village had no electricity. We used to sleep in open area of our huge mansion which is at the centre part of that building surrounding the central part with room all around. I used to dip my khesi (a linen sheet to throw on at night ) in bucketful of water, squeeze and put-on tightly and  asleep. Iused to repeat the process two tree times at night daily , this was an easy way to cool myself and escape from the dust.
We (me and my grandma)used to got up at 3:30 AM sharp ,my grand ma endelged in her daily chore of churning curd, while I used to make tea first using kachha hearth burning Khejri sticks. The raw milk of our buffalo which I used was so thick and tasty that tea taste divine .  I used to put some cream of the milk which collected on the upper layer for my tea only . The cream was so divine to taste that
I have not forgotten to this day.. Regardless of tasty things I have ever eaten, nothing Taste divine Like the milk and its cream. My grandma used to put this milk pot(kdhavani) for boiling (backing) on the simmering heat of the dungs (in hara) in the morning for the whole day. The thick ‘malai’ used to cover the milk which used to become pinkish  by the evening. She would never allow anybody to take this malai .She would curd this milk along with raw milk of evening  at night and early in the morning when everybody was asleep she would churn this curd with long heavy wooden beater (madhani) tied with cotton  rope on a wooden stand in a clay pot called  ‘bilona ’ with her  both hands till the butter began to float on the ‘lassi’.  She would take out the butter from it and put it in a separate pot( colloquali known as timaniya’ and ‘classih’ (curd milk without butter) in a separate pot. The ‘lassi’ was served during the day, the butter was mainly used for the chapattis but the fresh butter with ‘basi-khichadi’ of preceding night and ‘lassi’ were served in the morning which used to be the breakfast

green inside

White blossom. With lots of green  white blossom magic
Good thing is the blossom is blooming, the buds have already unfolded.
It often happens the tiny flowers don't open up, but just dry out.
Koma (my nice), you did a good job and brought the perfect blossom branches!
Thanks, for a bit of spring (in such a hot day and notapa) inside the living!

This stool is in computer room and passage toward backyard and kitchen.
Yes ! this is the Papdi branch from the big papdi tree in front of our house !!!
The papdi branch laden with little flowers are on the stool for almost the whole week now.

The afternoon sun is shining through the kitchen     cum dining room and it was so light, when I came home from outside.
All of a sudden I was overwhelmed by a strong spring sensation, just looking at the very same flowers...
I love that feeling!

(and I had to capture the moment)

The strange thing about my love for green is, I'm crazy about flowers and am too fond of green foliage plants.

The temporary beauty of a bunch of flowers on the table, you can enjoy them for a week and then it's done, away with it on to the next.
This was the arrangement September last year
Houseplants however, are just standing there and it makes me 'nervous' eventually.
Although I love plants in the garden, also houseplants.
So yesterday, when I bought a new branch  of neem I couldn't resist this plant and decided to adopt it, for the time being in the house and maybe within a few weeks it can move to the pot...
And some day its branches will decorate my bottle vase !!!!!!!!

Green touches everyone and everything, especially this time of the year to cool down the eyes

know the TED

TED (technology entertainment and design)is a global set of conferences curated by the American private non-profit sapling foundation and formed to spread "ideas worth spreading". it first took place 1984 and became an annual conference since 1990. on ted.com you can find interessting letures/videos to almost every topic. Here is a very nice one about moving sculptures by Arthur ganson.

Ted is worth having a closer look at, but be careful: you could spend a day or two doing nothing else =)

Nostelgia

You never know what I will be posting on my blog because I have such eclectic thoughts, interests, and ideas...so, if you have a minute, please stop-by

Do certain fragrances take you back in time? Bring back a memory that you cherish? I have a few scents that do this for me. My favorite color is green and it just so happens that I also love the fruit with this same color greener shade of an orange !!Yes the MALTA. Every time that I peel an orange MALTA the citrusy scent of that orange sends me back to my childhood.
My nanu had a Malt Garden full of flashy pulped maltaas, there were other fruits like, guvavas, peaches, grapes and some more.

It is no secret to those that know me that I love to read and that books have always been a part of my life. When I was in school(Shishu vihar Hindi High School, Limda Lane, Jamnagar, Gujarat India) at Jamnagar,Gujrat. I had a "best friend" named Liticia who lived on the next block. She also loved books and she, like me, enjoyed getting lost in its pages. Our favorite books were the Ghost and fairy stories. I would borrow hers and she would borrow mine. This way we were able to share these wonderful mysteries together.
We always read in her small living room curled up in front of the electric heater  in winter , the kind with the coils that curled up to the wooden rod   and then vented through the wall. This stove heated her family's whole tiny two room house. Our treat, as we read, were always Malta oranges. We both loved and regarded Maltas  as the best treat in the whole world! After we peeled our Maltas we would lay the peels on the  the top of the table nearby . As they dried from the heat of the hater, the luscious scent of Maltas filled the room. Life was good when you could read Ghost and Fairy  mysteries while eating maltas curled up on a rug in front of a  heater.

Today's recycling

We live in a disposable society. It's easier to throw things out than to fix them. We even give it a name - we call it recycling.
